Looking for a way to kick up that “Holiday Spirit”? How about a tour of holiday traditions from around the world? On Saturday, December 3rd, MWR will host NASWF’s “Passport to the Holidays”
During this event our guests, with Passports in hand, will be able to experience holiday traditions from Israel, the Philippians, Ukraine, Iceland, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, the Netherlands and the North Pole. Each area is designed with the countries holiday traditions and children will be able to participate in crafts and events.
The most exciting part is that Santa and Mrs. Clause will arrive direct from the North Pole in one of the Navy’s newest training helicopters, the TH-73A – the Thrasher! After landing at Whiting Field, Santa and Mrs. Clause will help the Commanding Officer, CAPT Paul Flores, light the Christmas Tree. Then both Santa and Mrs. Clause will be available for photos inside Santa’s workshop.
The “Blue Anchor Bells” will be here to provide holiday music and we will have various inflatables, a stilt walker and an aerialist to entertain the crowd. There is also a possibility of “SNOW” at the North Pole that day.
Refreshments of Hot Chocolate, Beer and Gluhwein (spiced wine) will be available.
The event starts at 3:00 pm and Santa is scheduled to fly-in at 4:00 pm. Guest are encouraged to park in the Auditorium parking lot.
